These are the first sketches for a book illustration I'm working on. I'm trying to achieve a 50's like painting style. Haven't touched watercolor in a while, but I got me the new 'ms painter' and I'll give it a shot before I'm doing this the conservative way. If anyone has some nice references on character design give me a shout. I'm looking for a french kind of style. Keeping you up to date. By the way, this is not the online comic I was talking about. Cheers.

BACK ONLINE

Hey folks, looks as if I'm finally back online. There are definitelly some pros about not having internet. Unfortunatelly they are greatly outraced by the cons. Especially when you consider yourself an internet-addict. E-mails kept coming in like hell, but I just couldn't go with the delete-all button. Actually kind of a pain to leave them unanswered. Postponed is not abandoned. Well, now I'm back for sure. I'll work my way up through the pile of semi-important messages and eventually I'll be up to date at some point.
I had a couple jobs in the past month, which where kind of refreshing. I was asked to get back to my own roots. As a matter of fact I chose pen and paper to be the tools the trade.
Furthermore I started a proect of my very own. It's going to be an internet comic. Two pages are done so far, and I'll show them to you some time soon.

JACK FLAMINGO'S MONSTER STUNT SHOW

I moved to a new apartment this week. I don't have internet just yet, so don't be mad for not responding to your emails. I try to check them as often as I can, but things are kind of messed up right now. I'm probably busy for a couple more weeks until I can start to upload stuff again. The new working area in my flat makes me draw totally different things though. The picture above for example is made to be a poster on my door. I always wanted to visit a show like this, but I never had the chance to do so. Therefore I had to make my very own poster :) I hope you dig it. It's 4000px x 7000. YEAH! New graphics card payes out in the end.

INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS

I watched the new Tarantino movie a week ago. It was quite awesome, not yet my favourite movie of all time though (as I expected). I'm looking foward to release the concept art for the weapons I did. Unfortunatelly I could not spot my name in the credits, they went by just a little too fast. Anyhow, GO WATCH IT. It'll be across europe on THURSDAY 20th of august.
I've been in a cheesy art-block mood for a while now. Weird dreams and occasions happening to me for some reason. Wait I know why, because I'm in love. From now on I'm not yelling about couples in public any longer, promise.

GETTING READY TO WORK

Raúl and I have something in common. We both try to relax first to get our job done properly. Closing eyes taking a deep breath choosing the right tools and medicine. The only difference is the job itself.
