Again, one of my speedpainting session results. The subject: The new pope. Heavily inspired by Woodkid's 'Iron'.

Speedpainting session from today. The subject was: Dreams of a bureaucrat.

DAY Z - DAVID - B-DAY

Inspired by Mike Mignola. It was my friends birthday and I wanted to gift him Day Z, + Baked Beans a box of matches and a coke. Happy Birthday Bloody Bastard.

SPEEDPAINTING #FIVE

This is number 4 of our weekly speedpainting sessions. This time we wanted to do a couple figures in 60 minutes. I went for 20's style clothing and hard edged brushes.

FIRST TRY SUPER SCULPEY

A friend of mine convinced me to try something new:  super sculpey. I am so much of a digital person that something I have to do with my actual hands seems awkwardly unnatural. I must stress this, but this is my first attempt out of, hopfully, many more to come. I am hooked to say the least. Maybe I should convince myself much more often to do some stuff 'offline'. Anyway, this head is far from being done yet, and I plan on  putting a couple more hours into it, and mybe paint it.

SPEEDPAINTING #THREE

  Topic this time was 'at the court'. I found myself heavily inspired by shogun 2, and Ashley Wood. Many things went wrong during this one, for example I merged the perspective grid with my canvas without noticing, painted without recording and went over timelimit by a couple minutes. Oh well.

This weeks speedpainting features a new plugin I discovered: the painterwheel. It's one of the tools painter really does way better than photoshop. And now I can have it. Give it, give. I know there are lots of things wrong with it, like foreshortening and loads of perspective stuff. I look at it as a fun experience integrading a new tool in a playful way. Speeded up times 15.
